Understanding music depends highly upon
understading Music Theory. Music theory explains how music is written and how and why music sounds the way it does. I prepare interested students for
piano, cello, and theory examinations with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). Theory lessons are usually included as an
important and integral part of piano lessons and cello lessons. Music Theory Lessons can also be taken as a stand-alone class. I teach Theory Grades I - V.
I studied piano, cello, accompaniment and music
theory at the Royal College of Music and I am an Associate of the Royal College of Music (ARCM) in London England. I have had master classes with Nadia Boulanger and extensive
experience in England and in the Bay Area. I have been piano soloist with the Foothill Orchestra, playing “Piano Concerto No. 22” by W.A. Mozart . I have been
the Principal Cellist of the Foothill Orchestra and play cello with the Silicon Valley Symphony.
